NTU Applauds Effort to Codify HRAs Into Law

National Taxpayers Union (NTU) released the following statement on the introduction of H.R. 5224, the Increasing Health Coverage through HRAs Act:

"National Taxpayers Union applauds Representatives Bishop, Budd, Westerman, and Smucker for introducing H.R. 5224, the Increasing Health Coverage through HRAs Act. This bill would ensure that hundreds of thousands of Americans will have access to health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) through their employer, and can use those HRAs to purchase insurance on the individual marketplace. Codifying these unique arrangements into law will boost employer confidence in HRAs, and give both employers and employees additional choices when considering how to best access health coverage. Lawmakers should be supporting more insurance choices for Americans, not fewer, and the Increasing Health Coverage through HRAs Act accomplishes just that."
