(Alexandria, VA) -- The untimely death of John Berthoud, President of the National Taxpayers Union and National Taxpayers Union Foundation, last Thursday has elicited shock, heartfelt condolences, and fond remembrances from hundreds of friends, opinion leaders, Members of Congress, and others in the public policy community. This Wednesday a special memorial service and evening reception will be held to celebrate the life and mourn the death of this remarkable man.
| WHO: | Dr. John E. Berthoud, May 23, 1962 - September 27, 2007 The 362,000 member NTU is a nonprofit, nonpartisan citizen group working for lower taxes, smaller government, and accountability from public officials at all levels. Dr. Berthoud began his service as President of NTU in 1997. Dr. Berthoud is survived by his mother Joan, his brother William, his brother Charles and their families. |
