Alessandra “Aley” Desiderio is Director of the Center for Emerging Technologies at National Taxpayers Union. Her policy work spans artificial intelligence, quantum technology, digital assets, commercial space and spectrum, and energy. She examines how regulation and infrastructure decisions affect innovation and taxpayer costs, including the demands that data center development places on the electric grid.

Desiderio brings experience in government affairs and development finance, with a background in energy and infrastructure policy. Her work focuses on removing barriers to private investment while protecting taxpayers from unnecessary public costs.

Desiderio is an alumna of the Leadership Program of the Rockies. She has also participated in fellowships with the Internet Society and the Clean Energy Leadership Institute.
