Did you miss this week's issue of NTUF's Taxpayer's Tab? If so, here's a quick recap.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) and Senator Tom Harkin (IA) have introduced bills (H.R. 1876 and S. 984) that would require businesses that employ 15 or more people to grant paid sick time to their employees. Employees could accumulate up to 56 hours of sick time that could be carried over to the next year. The bill would cost taxpayers $4 million a year for federal data gathering and compliance monitoring. HR. 1876 and S. 984 are this week's "Wildcard".
Other Tab highlights include S. 652, Building and Upgrading Infrastructure for Long-Term Development (BUILD) Act, which is sponsored by Senator John Kerry (MA). The bill would establish a public-private infrastructure bank to finance public infrastructure improvements. H.R. 1683 and S. 868, State Flexibility Act, also made The Tab this week. The bills, introduced by Congressman Phil Gingrey (GA-11) and Senator Orrin Hatch (UT), would give states greater flexibility in determining Medicaid eligibility rules. The "Most Friended" bill of the week is H.R. 178 and S. 260, Military Surviving Spouses Equity Act. Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-2) and Senator Bill Nelson (FL) introduced this legislation to remove a cap on retirement benefit payments to military families. House cosponsors include 76 Democrats and 69 Republicans. In the Senate, 32 Senators who caucus with the Democratic Party and 10 Republicans support S. 260.
