NTU Statement on the BRIDGE Act of 2021

“The Broadband Reform and Investment to Drive Growth in the Economy (BRIDGE) Act of 2021 is well-intentioned legislation aimed at closing the digital divide. However, flaws in the bill risk wasting taxpayer dollars. The “future proof” approach, nod to rate regulations, and requiring a letter of endorsement from local governments would risk spending billions of dollars without meaningful progress to close the digital divide. NTU opposes this legislation and urges Congress to support a taxpayer-friendly approach to close the digital divide.”
