(Alexandria, VA) – National Taxpayers Union (NTU) expressed great disappointment with the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to effectively overturn the law of the land as it ruled in favor of the federal government in the King v. Burwell case.
“This troubling ruling rejects the statutory language regarding subsidies in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or Obamacare,” said NTU Executive Vice President Brandon Arnold.
“Nevertheless, Congress should not be deterred from its important efforts to repeal the law – especially its most onerous provisions like the individual and employer mandates.”
Arnold concluded, “Congress must forge ahead with the process of moving to a market-based health care system that empowers patients, not government bureaucrats.”
