Did you miss this week's issue of NTUF's Taxpayer's Tab? If so, here's a quick recap.

Since 1995 the IRS has been allowed to charge taxpayers fees for certain services, such as entering into a payment plan. A piece of legislation passed in 2006 allowed the agency to keep the fees it collected as a supplement to its annual appropriations.
Congressman James Sensenbrenner (WI-5) introduced H.R. 349, the IRS Fee Reform Act of 2011 to bring additional oversight and transparency to the fee collection process. The bill would require the IRS to deposit all fees into the Treasury. According to CBO, this would save taxpayers $895 million over the first five years. This savings made H.R. 349 the Least Expensive Bill of the Week in this week's Taxpayer's Tab.
Other highlights from The Tab: Congressman Mark Critz (PA-12) has introduced H.R. 1544, the Corridor N Extension Act of 2011, to extend Route 219 from Edensburg, PA, to Salmanca, NY. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) and Senator Barbara Mikulski (MD) have introduced versions of the Paycheck Fairness Act, and H.R. 1560 -- sponsored by Texas Congressman Silvestre Reyes would allow the Yleta del Sur Pueblo Tribe to determine tribal membership.
