(Alexandria, VA) -- Fiscal conservatives lost a truly brilliant advocate for their cause today, with the death of Paul Weyrich. Duane Parde, President of the National Taxpayers Union and Foundation, and former Executive Director of the American Legislative Exchange Council, offered the following statement:
"Paul Weyrich was a true leader of the conservative policy movement in America. As a founding member of the Free Congress Foundation, the American Legislative Exchange Council, and other influential organizations, he helped define and advance the ideals of individual liberty and limited government. His strategic vision and intellectual vigor gave all of us inspiration.
Paul's many contributions made a positive difference, and he will be missed. On behalf of the entire staff at the National Taxpayers Union and Foundation, I extend our deepest condolences to Paul's family."
