Rulemaking Matters: NTU's Video Contest Submission

Almost every aspect of our lives is touched by federal regulations.  In an effort to get individuals to understand how rules are made and how one can participate in the rule-making process, the Environmental Protection Agency created a video contest.  The contest asked for short video clips that will engage the public and make the rulemaking process easy to understand.  It asked us to explain why rules are important and why the average American should care about federal regulations.

We rose to the challenge and had a little fun in the process.  Check out this video clip, where we explain how federal regulations actually affect the average American.  We got several first-hand accounts of the perverse affects of an EPA-engineered drought in the San Joaquin Valley.  So we compiled the stories and submitted them to the Office of Regulatory and Policy Management for the contest.

Go to www.regulations.gov to view other videos entered in the contest.  The winning video will be posted to the website.  The website also includes a section to write comments pertaining to a given regulation- so let your voice be heard.  Tell the EPA just how regulations affect you.
