NTU‘s Rating of 112th Congress Creates Stir

The media has been abuzz with news of the National Taxpayers Union’s 2011 Rating of Congress. Sixteen Senators and 37 House Representatives received A-ratings from NTU for the First Session of the 112th Congress – and often in their home districts earned well-deserved public accolade through media.

UnitedLiberty.org hailed NTU as “one of the few great organizations willing to criticize both parties for fiscal profligacy…”

Outlets like The Hill’s Finance & Economy Blog, NBC Chicago, and the Hawaii Reporter, among many others, opined and brought attention to NTU’s annual Rating. Whether they were pleased to see an overall improvement in fiscal responsibility in Washington, or unsure about the path to budgetary discipline, they were talking about the most comprehensive fiscal rating of Congress.
