Tweet Louisiana

Following the success of websites like Tweet Congress and Tweet Illinois, the Pelican Institute for Public Policy has launched Tweet Louisiana, an aggregator for short messages (140 characters or less) "tweeted" by Louisiana's elected officials on the popular social networking website Twitter. These messages appear in real-time and are viewable by anyone, though you must have a free Twitter account to respond to the messages.

Twitter provides another way for citizens to communicate with elected officials and opens up a channel for direct, quick responses. We applaud the Pelican Institute's efforts to make politics more transparent and accessible for Louisiana's citizens and hope that other states will take notice.
