Late last night the Obama energy tax hike push failed in the Senate. NTU led the charge to defeat the measure, including a million-dollar ad campaign.

Regarding recent allegations that U.S. oil company Exxon Mobil has paid no federal income taxes to the American government. In a Tennessean op-ed, NTU's executive vice president Pete Sepp clarifies that the American oil company pays about $15 billion in taxes, but most of it goes to foreign countries.
