National Taxpayers Union on Thursday congratulated the U.S. House under the leadership of Speaker Mike Johnson and his colleagues for passing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, putting the country on the road to economic certainty, smarter government spending, and pro-taxpayer policies for families and businesses.
National Taxpayers Union Executive Vice President Brandon Arnold said the bill is strong and can become even better when the Senate takes up consideration.
“The bill passed by the House contains growth-focused tax relief and some important first steps toward long-needed spending restraint,” Arnold said. “The Senate now has a strong package that it can build upon and further improve.”
The bill includes several major taxpayer victories, including:
Pro-growth tax policies that give families and businesses the confidence they need to invest and thrive.
Spending controls which, if adhered to, begin to rein in unsustainable policies and improve fiscal responsibility.
Phaseouts of wasteful green energy tax credits and reforms to Medicaid that restore the program’s intent and reflect a more efficient, accountable use of taxpayer dollars.
