Taxpayers Applaud Congressional Committees’ Work on Tax & Budget Bill

National Taxpayers Union (NTU) on Thursday congratulated the 11 House committees that successfully completed their relevant markups of the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which would yield significant tax and budget savings for Americans.

NTU President Pete Sepp said the House goes into a possible floor vote next week with the wind at its back to achieve fiscal responsibility and taxpayer savings.

"Completing these markups is real progress in avoiding a major tax cliff at the end of this year," Sepp said. “While all Committee chairs deserve praise, Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith and Energy and Commerce Chair Brett Guthrie have earned special thanks for steadily guiding their committees past what could have been a perilous situation for taxpayers. We urge lawmakers to stay focused on getting the bill across the finish line to make life easier for American families and small businesses."

NTU will continue advocating for additional pro-growth tax policies and spending reductions to strengthen the bill and help ensure it reaches President Donald Trump’s desk by the Fourth of July.
