Did you miss this week's issue of NTUF's Taxpayer's Tab? If so, here's a quick recap.

Pennsylvania Congressman Joe Pitts (pictured) has introduced H.R. 1217 to repeal the Prevention and Public Health Fund. The Fund, which was part of the health care bill, would provide grants to public and private entities to carry out prevention, wellness, and public health activities. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that repealing the Fund's authority and any unobligiated monies associated with the Fund would save taxpayers $6.1 billion over five years.
Other Tab highlights include: Congresswoman Maxine Waters's bill, H.R. 1209, to reform the Section 8 voucher program. H.R. 1297, introduced by Congressman Louie Gohmert, would require the Department of Defense to pay members of the Armed Forces during a budgetary impass. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur introduced legislation, H.R. 307, to establish a Patented Seed Fund.
