The adage is that March begins like a lion and ends like a lamb. Regardless of the animal metaphors -- donkeys and elephants included -- March was a busy month for legislators on Capitol Hill. According to NTUF's Taxpayer's Tab, since the beginning of this Congress, "NTUF analysts have thus far scored 684 bills. Of those, 446 were House bills with 147 bills introduced in the past month. The Foundation also scored 238 Senate bills, with 59 of them introduced in March."

House Stats
The following sponsorship figures are based on the House bills that were scored by NTUF within the month of March (totals include both sponsors and cosponsors):
- Most Bills Overall: 50 by Dan Burton (IN-5)
- Most Spending Bills: 11 by Barbara Lee (CA-9)
- Most Cut Bills: 3 by Judy Biggert (IL-13), Shelly Capito (WV-2), Phil Gingrey (GA-11), Michael Grimm (NY-13), Richard Hanna (NY-24), and Tom Reed (NY-29)
- Most No Cost Bills: 47 by Jason Chaffetz (UT-3)
Senate Stats
The following sponsorship figures are based on the Senate bills that were scored by NTUF within the month of March (totals include both sponsors and cosponsors):
- Most Bills Overall: 36 by Dianne Feinstein (CA)
- Most Spending Bills: 10 Barbara Boxer (CA)
- Most Cut Bills: 4 by Tom Coburn (OK), Susan Collins (ME), Chuck Grassley (IA), Amy Klobuchar (MN), and Herb Kohl (WI)
