In a tacit admission their tax rates make competition tough for businesses, the California Assembly passed a bill that would create $420 million in tax credits for an “advanced strategic aircraft program” over 15 years. The bill will now head to the Senate floor for debate – via the LATimes.

Chris Christie is expected sign the state budget today, but he will use line-item vetoes on several tax hikes that were proposed by NJ Democrats. Christie’s alternative plan has been to cut pension contributions.
