Vote NO on H.R. 4899

NTU urges all Senators to vote “NO” on H.R. 4899, the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations bill. This legislation contains $58.8 billion in “off-budget” spending that should be debated through the normal budget process. Furthermore, this “war” supplemental includes $12.7 billion for non-military purposes, including $5.1 billion for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), $2.9 billion for the State Department, and $3.3 billion in international assistance. Barring action to significantly reduce and fully offset the spending contained in this bill with program cuts elsewhere, taxpayers ask that you stand up for fiscal responsibility by rejecting this pork-laden package.

Votes on this bill will be heavily weighted in our annual Rating of Congress.
