In the debate on H.R. 2112, NTU Encourages Senators to Vote "YES" on Amendment 739.

In the debate on H.R. 2112, the Agriculture, CJS, and Transportation Appropriations bill, numerous amendments will be offered. Although many of these involve fiscal matters on which NTU will be commenting, at this point in the process we ask Senators to:

Vote “YES” on Amendment 739. Introduced by Sen. McCain (R-AZ), this amendmentwould prohibit funding for lower-priority transportation projects such aslandscaping, rehabilitation of historic transportation buildings, and theestablishment of transportation museums. This would ensure that scarcetransportation resources are not wasted on projects that make do not contributeto increasing the capacity or quality of our infrastructure system.

Roll call votes on Amendment 739 will be significantly weighted in our annual Rating of Congress.
