National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF) President Pete Sepp on Wednesday announced Eric Lee has joined the organization as an attorney for the Taxpayer Defense Center.
In this role, Lee will be responsible for litigating high-impact tax cases in both state and federal court. He will also prepare amicus briefs for appellate cases across the county. He will work with Executive Vice President Joe Bishop-Henchman and Senior Attorney Tyler Martinez.
Lee previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office in Chicago.
“We are thrilled to welcome Eric,” NTUF President Pete Sepp said. “His background in litigation and significant trial experience will be strong assets as NTUF continues to fight for taxpayers in the courts.”
Lee is a graduate of Washington University School of Law. He is admitted to the bar in New York and Illinois.
“It’s a privilege to join NTUF and work with Joe and Tyler,” Lee said. “I am looking forward to defending the rights of taxpayers from government overreach in courts across the country.”
The Taxpayer Defense Center (TDC) is the nation’s only public interest law firm dedicated solely to defending taxpayers against overzealous and unfair tax administration. Because of its work, including suing the government, filing briefs, and analyzing judicial rulings, taxpayers across the country benefit from improved public policy and wins worth tens of millions of dollars for individuals and businesses.
