BiographyAs
NTU's Economic Policy Analyst, Tad DeHaven uses his extensive experience
to amplify our pro-taxpayer message to lawmakers and the public. Lobbying
on federal and state issues, conducting policy research and analysis, assisting
in voter education efforts, and formulating reports and editorials are
DeHaven's primary duties. His articles have appeared in notable publications
such as the Washington Post, Washington Times, New York Post, and
National
Review magazine (he authored a featured cover story in an April 2004 issue).
DeHaven's
focus on contemporary taxpayer issues such as Internet taxation, taxation
of innovative telecommunications technology (Voice over Internet Protocol),
prescription drug importation, and labor outsourcing helps keep NTU on
the vanguard in the fight against burdensome taxation and regulation. DeHaven
also concentrates on longstanding economic reform issues, for example a
complete overhaul of the United States Postal System.
Previously
hailing from the Cato Institute, where he served as a Fiscal Policy Researcher,
DeHaven brings to NTU his valuable expertise on a broad array of taxpayer
issues including: the federal budget process, tax policy, corporate subsidies,
entitlement spending, education spending, and federal employment practices.
He also includes a stint with Morgan Stanley on his resume.
DeHaven
is a graduate of Shippensburg University, with a B.A. in Economics and
