Title - Economic Policy Analyst

Email - ntu@ntu.org

Biography

As NTU's Economic Policy Analyst, Tad DeHaven uses his extensive experience to amplify our pro-taxpayer message to lawmakers and the public. Lobbying on federal and state issues, conducting policy research and analysis, assisting in voter education efforts, and formulating reports and editorials are DeHaven's primary duties. His articles have appeared in notable publications such as the Washington Post, Washington Times, New York Post, and National Review magazine (he authored a featured cover story in an April 2004 issue).

DeHaven's focus on contemporary taxpayer issues such as Internet taxation, taxation of innovative telecommunications technology (Voice over Internet Protocol), prescription drug importation, and labor outsourcing helps keep NTU on the vanguard in the fight against burdensome taxation and regulation. DeHaven also concentrates on longstanding economic reform issues, for example a complete overhaul of the United States Postal System.

Previously hailing from the Cato Institute, where he served as a Fiscal Policy Researcher, DeHaven brings to NTU his valuable expertise on a broad array of taxpayer issues including: the federal budget process, tax policy, corporate subsidies, entitlement spending, education spending, and federal employment practices. He also includes a stint with Morgan Stanley on his resume.

DeHaven is a graduate of Shippensburg University, with a B.A. in Economics and Finance.
