Kansas
NTU has more than 4,500 members in Kansas who are committed to low taxes and a smaller, more accountable government at the federal, state, and local levels. While any number of reforms would help strengthen Kansas’ competitiveness and economic growth, lawmakers in Topeka may be wise to look westward to Colorado and adopt its TABOR, which restricts the annual growth of state spending and allows voters to approve or deny any tax increase. Kansas' lawmakers could also look eastward to Missouri, which levies no estate tax. Either way, Kansas can learn from its neighbor, rather than sending jobs across state lines. NTU will continue to fight for pro-growth policies in the Sunflower State. Be sure to check back often to our Kansas page for information on state and local taxpayer groups, our work on behalf of taxpayers in the state, and contact information for your lawmakers.
