The Late Edition: Rubio Refund Act & Energy Tax Vote

Douglas Kellogg
May 17, 2011

Today's Roundup of Taxpayer News!

The good: Today, Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced the REFUND Act in the Senate which would reduce the mounting federal debt by allowing states to refuse federal funds and send these funds back to the federal treasury to drive down the federal debt. The National Taxpayers Union and Citizens Against Government Waste, have lent support to the legislation.

The bad: Tonight the Senate votes on vindictive energy taxes that will do nothing to aleviate the pain consumers are feeling at the pump.
