Senator Bob Corker Wins 2010 Taxpayers Friend Award

June 27, 2011

Recently, Executive VP Pete Sepp (left) and VP of Government Affairs Andrew Moylan (right) presented Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) with the 2010 Taxpayers' Friend Award for receiving an "A" grade in NTU's annual Rating of Congress.

Sen. Corker's "Taxpayer Score" of 99 percent, was one of the best in the entire Congress, placing him 8th in this year's Senate rankings. By exercising consistent leadership in voting to reduce federal spending, taxes, and debt, Sen. Corker has truly earned the title, "Taxpayers' Friend."

Since you are such a taxpayer's friend, Senator Bob Corker, would you mind discontinuing your lobbying for sub-prime lender and self-professed "colorful" "granddaddy of pay day lending" owner W. Allan Jones and Check Into Cash? It is a well-known fact that W. Allan Jones, Check Into Cash, Jones Management, and friends and family members of same regularly contribute to your campaign coffers in exchange for your loyal lobbying for the seedy payday loan industry. Where is your integrity, Senator Corker? Did you lose it between the cushions of the couch? Please find it soon and disassociate yourself from W. Allan Jones and Check Into Cash. Your friendship with them demeans you.
