  • ( + ) Georgians will decide on the Charter Schools Amendment which would give the Legislature the power to create special schools. In May, Governor Nathan Deal signed a bill enabling funding for state charter schools. This bill only goes into effect if voters approve this amendment. Charter schools in Georgia would be run by local non-profit boards, increasing local control of education.
