Oregon SCORECARD

Our 6,600 members in Oregon can brag that it is one of five states with no statewide sales tax, but there’s a caveat: It has one of the highest income tax rates in the nation. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that it is bordered by two states that levy no income tax: Washington and Nevada. Families and small business owners looking to relocate to the region are much more likely to do so in a low-tax state. Oregon would be well-served to modernize its tax structure and slash its income tax rate while getting state spending under control. NTU is here to help; be sure to check back here often for more information on state and local taxpayer groups, our work on behalf of taxpayers in Oregon, and contact information for your lawmakers.
