Alabama SCORECARD

NTU boasts just short of 4,000 Alabama members who are committed to lower taxes and a smaller, more accountable government at the federal, state and local levels. While the Yellowhammer State has a relatively small tax burden, lawmakers could learn from neighboring Florida, which levies no personal income tax. Still, Alabama’s low property taxes, resistance to a progressive income tax structure, and status as a Right to Work state have fostered population growth over the past decade. Be sure to check back regularly to NTU’s Alabama page for information on state and local taxpayer groups, links to our work on behalf of taxpayers in the state, and contact information for your lawmakers.
