"Use It or Lose It" Budgeting Leads to End of the Year Agency Splurges

by Demian Brady / /

NTU Foundation's Spencer Woody was recently featured on WFXT discussing how federal agencies engage in purchases on splurge items at the end of the Fiscal Year.

$25,000 worth of corn hole sets with the Army logo, that's the tailgating game usually played with a beer in one hand, $8,000 worth of weights ... and a $30,000 expandable paintball arena. It sounds like the ultimate dream fraternity house setup - but they're actually items purchased by federal government agencies in the month of September just days before the end of the Fiscal Year.
