Democrats in Congress are sending the American people mixed messages. On the one hand, they’re trying to sell the public on a massive, $2 trillion infrastructure plan that delivers far less in benefits than it costs — and that’s fresh off passing a $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill packed with unrelated goodies. But on the other, some Democrats in Congress are willing to derail the plan if they can’t implement a huge tax break for the wealthy.
