Telling the Truth about Project Sail

Right now, our economy might seem like it's in rough shape. Gas prices are rising across the country, and people are worried about housing costs. Yet the economy is gearing up for serious growth in the long term, both locally and nationwide, thanks to data centers.

If you don't believe that, it may be because you have heard misinformation about the impact of data centers. At National Taxpayers Union, we have long fought public-private partnerships that leave taxpayers on the hook for corporate welfare, and we have always prioritized transparency. That's why we feel it is important to talk about the reality of this project.

Only recently have we all realized that data centers are among the fastest-growing sectors of our economy. Coweta residents learned this firsthand over the past two years. Now, with Project Sail approved as the county expects an increased population and adjusts its comprehensive plan to reflect the related growing pains, it's clear that this data center couldn't come at a better time. Residents will see an improvement in their quality of life thanks to this project, with minimal disruption, paving the way for other priorities to take shape.
