Sylvia Carranza was the Operations Manager for National Taxpayers Union and National Taxpayers Union Foundation. She provided the management, financial skills and experience to deliver the support the organizations required to succeed in their missions.
Sylvia oversaw high-level human resources duties, assisted with bookkeeping, and was responsible for personnel management, business and financial management, compensation administration in conjunction with payroll and benefits internally and externally. She engaged in oversight of all processes necessary for the annual financial audit, conducted nonprofit compliance filings and activities, maintained and evaluated vendor and consultant relationships, and provided general office management.
Prior to joining NTU and NTUF, Sylvia worked in private banking in Northern Virginia. She has extensive knowledge of financial transaction controls, best business practices, and human resources optimization. In 2015 she completed her B.S. degree, double majoring in Finance and Management from George Mason University. She also holds an A.S. in Management and an A.S. in Social Science from Northern Virginia Community College.
