NTU and Foundation Staff New Year’s Resolutions

From all of us at National Taxpayers Union and Foundation, Happy New Year! Here’s to bigger and better things in 2015!

At National Taxpayers Union and Foundation, we spend almost all of our time pushing for a more taxpayer-friendly government. Defending the economic freedom and liberties of every American is beyond a full-time job. On top of having policy and economic backgrounds, our staff tracks the developments of thousands of government spending and tax activities that affect millions of Americans in different ways. We write hundreds of blog posts, research papers, and vote alerts to help clarify our positions as well as educate citizens on these complex issues. There are a lot of early mornings and late nights.

So, as 2014 comes to a close, we would like to share a more personal side of our lives with you. Before Christmas, we talked about what present each staffer would like from Congress. I particularly liked Tim Howland’s wish for the T-Rex status at the Museum of Natural History.

Now, here are some of our New Year’s resolutions as we head into 2015:

“Be the best father I can possibly be to my amazing daughter, Callie. She is the reason I work every day to try to make this country freer and more prosperous.” – Executive Vice President Brandon Arnold

“Improve my pistol skills to be able to hit two out of three steel targets at 10, 25, and 50 yards.” – Research & Outreach Manager Dan Barrett

“Teach my daughter Russian, or at least as much as I remember of the language.” – Director of Research Demian Brady

“Volunteer more time at local animal shelters.” – Creative Content Manager Tim Howland

“Better appreciate the tremendous opportunities and potential in every challenge.” – President Pete Sepp

“Practice my cello more often.” – Federal Affairs Manager Nan Swift

“Put in the work it takes to get my marathon time down to 3:30. I’d also like to finish my band’s next album and play more shows to support it.” – Policy Analyst Michael Tasselmyer
