Vote YES to Repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

NTU urges all Senators to vote “YES” on the amendment introduced bySenator McConnell to repeal in its entirety the Patient Protection andAffordable Care Act, thereby cutting spending by $540 billion and preventing$770 billion in tax increases over the next decade.

From itsinception to final passage, NTU has vehemently opposed the health care lawbecause of its enormous tax hikes, inclusion of an “individual mandate,” andmounds of restrictive regulations. This onerous law is a massive expansion ofour federal government in a way that is both unprecedented and unsustainable. Our nation deserves better.

A clearmajority of the American people, 26 state attorneys general, and two judgeshave rejected this health care law as unwanted or unconstitutional. The timehas come for Congress to heed that message and start over with reforms that puthealth care choices in the hands of patients and their doctors – not governmentbureaucrats.

For thesake of America’s overburdened taxpayers, Congress must repeal the PatientProtection and Affordable Care Act and get to work on fiscally responsiblealternatives that respect our economic freedoms. Votes onthe McConnell amendment, including cloture, will be among the most heavilyweighted of the year in our annual Rating of Congress.
