You might have missed it last week, but Illinois's supreme court ruled that former Governor George Ryan won't get his state pension:
The Illinois Supreme Court today ruled against Ryan, saying that because of his multiple federal felony convictions, Ryan has "forfeited all of the pension benefits he earned."Ryan is serving a six-and-a-half year sentence in a federal prison for the racketeering and corruption conviction from his time as secretary of state and governor.Supreme Court justices said Ryan's behavior in office clearly cost him his annual $197,000 pension.
NTU has long advocated "no pensions for felons."
This is good news for taxpayers.
