Yesterday, I wrote about NTU-endorsed legislation, H.R. 4255, that would stop an automatic pay hike for Members of Congress in 2011. It is always difficult to know what issues Congress will take on during an election year, but I'm thrilled to say that H.R. 4255 passed the House! It was passed under suspension of the rules (which basically expedites floor action) by a vote of 402-15. The legislation was nearly identical to the Senate version referenced in my previous post.
Representatives Mitchell and Paul have led the charge on this important issue, blocking a hike last year for 2010 and now for 2011 as well.
