South Dakota
NTU has nearly 1,300 members in South Dakota who love the fact that they don’t pay any personal income taxes. Small business owners appreciate this as well, as many of them file their business revenue as personal income. Currently there are only seven states that do not levy a personal income tax; more should follow South Dakota’s lead. In the meantime, NTU will fight to preserve South Dakota’s status as a low-tax state that is “open for business.” Check back here often for more information on state and local taxpayer groups, our work on behalf of taxpayers in the state, and contact information for your lawmakers.
