Today's Taxpayer News!
Senator Ted Cruz proposed eventually abolishing the IRS at a recent GOP event. The senator has long supported the fair tax, and is now advocating that system as a vehicle for downsizing or even eliminating the IRS.
NTU's Pete Sepp makes the case for corporate tax reform in a new piece for US News and World Report, exploring the wide disparity in effective tax rate for companies of similar size.
Senators Mike Lee and Justin Amash introduced legislation Friday to repeal the Export-Import Bank, which has recently come under fire for subsidizing failed business models (a loan to solar panel company Solyndra is just one such example). You can read more about this in a December editorial penned by Pete Sepp.
