NTU Statement on Grand Junction Government Broadband Proposal

"Today, National Taxpayers Union urged the Grand Junction, Colorado, City Council to oppose the creation of a government-owned broadband network. As the history of these schemes indicate, few are successful and virtually all are bad deals for taxpayers," said Clark Packard, NTU's Counsel and Government Affairs Manager.

"Virtually every citizen in Grand Junction has multiple choices for high quality, and affordable broadband. The City Council should look for ways to eliminate barriers to entry that restrict competition and keep prices artificially inflated."
