Billions of Dollars at Stake as NTU Releases Annual Ballot Guide

Today, National Taxpayers Union (NTU) released its annual Ballot Guide and launched a corresponding microsite to be a reference for taxpayers as they head for the ballot box November 8th. The guide includes local ballot initiatives, referenda, and voter-determined constitutional amendments on election slates that impact taxpayers’ bottom lines.

While much of the political world is focused on who will occupy the White House in 2017, in just under a month, taxpayers will confront profound questions on ballots all across the country including the cost of food, transportation, and health care. This year’s Ballot Guide also details 74 state and local questions that could dramatically alter the size, scope, and cost of government.

Clark Packard, Counsel and Government Affairs Manager at NTU said, “Often-times the most significant policy changes happen at the state and local levels, despite not receiving the same amount of attention as decisions made in Washington, D.C. Vigilant taxpayers need to be properly informed about how the questions before them will impact their lives. We’re glad to make this resource available to all taxpayers across the country.”

The guide is for informational purposes only; it is not intended to provide endorsements or recommendations to voters.
