Rob Shrum was Vice President of External Affairs for the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) and National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF). In this role, he lead development operations for both organizations and is involved in their management and strategic planning.

Prior to joining NTU, Rob worked for CTIA, directing federal and state-level grassroots advocacy campaigns for the wireless industry. Before that he was in charge of member engagement and state legislative relations for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), and managed development and external affairs for the Tax Foundation. Rob’s background also includes campaign consulting and national politics.

Rob holds a Master’s Degree in Political Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.

Rob is a diehard fan of the Washington Nationals and resides in Northern Virginia with his wife Liz and son Luke.
