New York SCORECARD

With almost 18,000 members in New York, we’re committed to righting the ship here. Unfortunately, the state’s dogmatic acceptance of tax increases as a cure-all to perpetual budget strife only prolongs the problem. For evidence, look no further than the number of New Yorkers jumping ship: Between 1998 and 2007, New York lost more people in terms of domestic migration than any other state in the country. More than 1.9 million people left the state. Government needs to recognize that economic growth comes from the private sector. NTU remains committed to this fight; be sure to check back frequently to our New York page for more information on state and local taxpayer groups, our work on behalf of taxpayers in the state, and contact information for your lawmakers.
